So, thanks to Philly's glacial clock management...

...the New England Patriots have won the Super Bowl.

To review, what have we learned...

1) Miller High Life is Pretty Good.

2) The New England Patriots are Pretty Good.

3) If you have a Super Bowl Party, invite people who cook well.

4) If your cat likes to nuzzle your guests as they sit on the toilet, it's creepy, but in an endearing way.

5) Miller High Life with ice cream is not too good, unless you like maple syrup.

That's all for now...

Philly is approaching the closing minutes of the Super Bowl...

...with a more relaxed pace than the last game of touch football I played with old men. They are blowing the game by wasting too much time...

Jeff is in the restroom with Wolfy. I hear giggles. Don't know why. Don't want to know why...

Some lineman is down with cramps...

...so while they're getting him some Midol, I'll give the Wolfy update.

1) Vanessa (Jeff's amorphously-defined relationship girl) was slightly creeped out at Wolfy's habit of sitting on the counter and trying to nuzzle strangers as they sit on the toilet.

2) Wolfy is vascillating between affection and agression about every five minutes. In other words, he is completely normal and comfortable (for Wolfy).

FG Venitiari - 24-14 New England...

Touchdown Corey Dillon...

...who played for the Cincinatti Bengals for 8 years...

Joe Buck mentioned that Dillon once said that he'd rather flip burgers than play in Cincinatti. To this, my friend Tommy, who has worked at McDonalds since December of 1993, responded...

"Well, I'd rather play for Cincinatti than flip burgers..."

I thought I'd mention this...

What a pass by McNabb...

...and we're tied at 14.

In other news, Wolfy the Neurotic/Psychotic Cat is loose, and chasing a moth around the house. I'll keep you posted...

OK, Ford, we get it...

...the new 'Stang convertible is pretty good. Is it really worth showing the same commercial 3 times at $2.4 million per?

Just tried something...

Cookies and Creme Ice Cream...

...Made in a float with Miller High Life...

...tastes a little like maple syrup...

...Ahhh, the High Life...

(Pats just went up 14-7. Guessing here that they dominate the 2nd half. Brady's no Montana, but he's pretty good)

Oh, yeah, and one more thing...

...the lamb was incredible, as were the potatoes, brussel sprouts, guacamole, shrimp, and the Miller High Life. I feel like I'm about to give birth... to a big bouncing brown baby boy...

That's an example of alliteration, for those of you scoring at home (or even if you're alone...)

"Come on, sing along!"

...hippity-hop. Love how the 80,000 people in the crowd were prepared with their candles (or lighters), just in case they needed them for "Hey Jude"...

I was just told that a Dallas sports radio personality asked Sir Paul if "he'd be playing with his original band." Not sure how I feel about that, except that it was probably in poor taste...

The crowd is actually singing along now - "Na, na, na, na-na-na na."

"Thank you Super Bowl!"

90+ on the UCR at this point, and without the benefit of a wardrobe malfunction...

Since Paul McCartney's coming up...

...check out this Sports Guy cartoon (on the right column) to get prepared...

So what do we know so far (1st Q)?

1) Philly can't run the ball. The Pats can't throw. I'm thinking the Patriots could win 14-3 on defensive scores.

2) McNabb is making some nice plays, but has turned the ball over too much.

3) Burt Reynolds has been prominently involved in at least a couple of commercials. Apparently, it's 1978 or something...

4) Lamb in 5 minutes. If you have a Super Bowl Party, invite people who can cook.

Patriots recover a fumble...

...and I had no idea what happened. Nice TV work there, FOX...

My brother just called...

...and pointed out to me that when Alicia Keys stood up and started walking around during "America the Beautiful", the piano continued to play. I guess Ray took over for her...

Just moved my TV downstairs...

...within view of the kitchen, along with all my portable furniture. I've adapted my party to allow us to transition from the great food in the kitchen to the TV without need of negociating stairs.

That, my friends, is why they pay me the big bucks...

Blogging my Super Bowl Party...

Hey loyal readers...

It's 10 till 4 on the holiest of holy days in the tradition of American culture - Super Bowl Sunday. Halfway through my first can of Miller High Life (the Champagne of Beers), I had the idea of keeping an hour by hour blog of my party over here. It's a motley crew I have here - my friend Tommy is even coming by. So, come, vicariously share the experience of a Super Bowl Party at the Casa Hatah...

Downstairs right now, my friend Eric and his old work buddies Steven and Larry are cooking in the kitchen. On the menu is Leg of Lamb, brussel sprouts, sausage, shrimp, and a lot of other things that will be cooked by people who are good enough to cook for a living. Perk to having a house - you can occasionally eat much better than you deserve...

As far as the game goes, here's my quick, off the top of my head, half a can of Miller High Life prediction - Game stays close through the first half (let's say 14-9 Patriots), then the Patriots run the ball a bunch in the second half, get a couple of turnovers, and build a 31-12 lead. The Eagles make a game of it, but the Patriots win their third Super Bowl in 4 years by the score of 38-29, thereby earning me $100 in the office pool...

3 Things to look for in the game today:

1) I have a hetero Man-Crush on Tom Brady - the combination of the likability and the stubble is formidable. Ladies - keep an eye on him and see if you agree with me. Since almost none of you understand football, this will give a reason to stay interested in the game.

2) The sideline reporter, Pam Oliver, has a HUGE mouth. She looks like a Muppet...

3) The Patriots helmet has a logo that resembles a Flying Elvis. About a 73 on the UCR.

I'm going downstairs to eat some more. More to come...
